Metamorphosis

Once – walking down

Dark alleys,

Fingers entwined,

Together,

Confronting ghosts,

Along the wilderness;

Now- All he remembers

Is her clinging on,

Finger nails

Mauling into his skin,

All she remembers

Is his cold merciless eyes,

Looking down at her,

As she uncurled

Her fingers

And let herself fall off.
